Inversion of Chlorophyll-a of Clean Water in Qiandao Lake With Remote Sensing Data Using the Neural Network
Machine learning algorithm, as an important method for numerical modeling, has been widely used for chlorophyll-a concentration inversion modeling. In this work, a variety of models were built by applying five kinds of datasets and adopting back propagation neural network (BPNN), extreme learning machine (ELM), support vector machine (SVM). The results revealed that modeling with multi-factor datasets has the possibility to improve the accuracy of inversion model, and seven band combinations are better than seven single bands when modeling, Besides, SVM is more suitable than BPNN and ELM fo
Studying Different Facets of Macroinvertebrate Diversity in the North and South Slope of Shennongjia Mountain, Hubei, China
Spatial biodiversity is a key issue in biogeography for the explorations of biological origin and diversification. However, seldom studies have addressed the temporal changes in spatial patterns of biodiversity. We explored the taxonomic and functional diversities of riverine macroinvertebrates in central China, with the elevational gradient, in different seasons in a normal climate year (i.e., no extreme anomalies in the annual precipitation or average annual temperature). The air temperature and streamflow discharge were decreased monotonically with the increase of elevation both in the d
Study on Vegetation Change in Hunan Province Based on MODIS NDVI Time Series Data
In recent decades, climate change has affected vegetation growth in terrestrial ecosystems. We investigated spatial and temporal patterns of vegetation cover on the Loess Plateau’s Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia region in central China using MODIS-NDVI data for 2000–2014. We examined the roles of regional climate change and human activities in vegetation restoration, particularly from 1999 when conversion of sloping farmland to forestland or grassland began under the national Grain-for-Green program. Our results indicated a general upward trend in average NDVI values in the study area. T
Estimation of Mitigation Effect of Sponge City Reconstruction on Heat Island Effect
Sponge city is a method of managing rain floods, proposed by China to deal with urban waterlogging and the overflow pollution of drainage pipe networks, which indicates a more effective strategy to promote urban sustainable development. Due to the diversity of sponge city construction objectives and the complexity of the developmental system, a unified and effective sustainability evaluation method has not yet been formed. Based on the emergy analysis method, the indicators of ecosystem service, the construction cost, the runoff regulation, and the pollutant reduction of sponge city constru
Study on the Center of Gravity Movement and Driving Effect of Residents' Domestic Water Use in the Yangtze River Economic Belt
It is important to analyze the expansion of an urban area and the factors that drive its expansion. Therefore, this study is based on Defense Meteorological Satellite Program Operational Linescan System (DMSP/OLS) night lighting data, using the landscape index, spatial expansion strength index, compactness index, urban land fractal index, elasticity coefficient, the standard deviation ellipse, spatial correlation analysis, and partial least squares regression to analyze the spatial and temporal evolution of urban land expansion and its driving factors in the Yangtze River Economic Belt (YRE
